I was born and raised eyjamaður but had always had one foot in Reykjavik where my mother is from there. My grandmother and grandfather have Laufás house on the road and this most of my childhood memories of the city. When we went to the city (which actually happened very often) then registers in most cases Laufás tract of grandparents in good sofa in one room. I remember what I thought was always pleasant to hear the cars at night and planes that flew over the house when I was going to sleep.
Sometimes I got to bring one to the center, and then I stayed often with two cousins of the same age my grandpa and grandma. Each had their Barbie bedding grandmother sewed for us and before we went to bed we had always cuddle in the sofa and watching TV. One time we managed to count grandparents to promise to be one to watch TV on the second floor while they were on the top floor to sleep. We knew namely a horror movie on TV at the station one of us really wanted to see. But what we did not know was that the photo was taken in the basement of the house next to where there was an older man with a workshop he worked to build coffins. I think the year was around 1989-1992 so we have been around 9-12 years. Egill Ólafsson starred in the film, he played a vampire (or Dracula), and in our opinion, he played the role of his great good that the low Stark fear of the whole picture. Then when it was finally finished we were going to be terrible adults and turn off the TV and tried to go to sleep in the dark as we had always done. But the first time we disrupted traffic, mostly lights from cars through the blinds, but they have made sure that escaped with furniture. It was also the knowledge that this film happened in the house next to a little too much reality and no one dared to exceed to illuminate. At five minutes thought we see Egil Olafsson stand in the dining room or in the living room where the finer shadows were beginning to play with your eyes. So we made a difference gave the decision to the roar of the grandmother who slept were alarms on the upper floor. It was felt down from three to one and was gargað. Grandma ran out from his bed and rushed down the stairs gripin and into the living room to us and where we skíthræddar low Egill Ólafsson was a vampire in the basement next. I need hardly say that we did not return to stay awake alone after watching TV, at least not over the next few years.
After this, every time I walk past the house next to my grandparents gripin house, I think of Dracula and coffins. I suspect the fact that there are not many people who share this feeling as this is a very nice house and not macabre. There is also a long way since it was stopped building coffins in the basement and I've actually never felt this picture was on TV that I suspect was a short film.
