Tempur-Pedic is the world’s largest bedding company, and its support salon of Sunrise is a tradition Karroll Penney has been a part of for 18 years. She’s Facilities Manager for the company’s headquarters in Lexington and helped organize the event.
Sunrise’s PRTF kids were welcomed with pizza, and Tempur-Pedic employees mingled with the children, making them feel at home. They worked on a craft, salon got a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus, then opened presents that Tempur-Pedic employees salon had collected.
Penney explained that each department sponsored a child. salon When it came time to open gifts, the boys were in for great surprises. They unwrapped X-box video game systems, Ipads, bicycles, name-brand clothes and tennis shoes. One young boy even got a full-sized basketball goal.
Giving joy to children who have known so much hurt is, in itself, a great gift. “This is my Christmas,” said Penney. “This is what I look forward to every year. It’s my passion.”
